How It Started

Here for the Miles began with a simple belief: exercise is medicine, and community gives it power. It started as a personal habit, with morning walks that helped reset the mind and body. Over time, that small routine sparked a larger idea. What if this kind of simple wellness could be shared with more people, not just individuals but entire groups?

The idea took shape during a period when wellness often felt intense or out of reach. Many programs focused on high performance or came with high costs. There was a clear gap. Something more approachable was missing. People needed a space that felt natural, calming, and easy to take part in.

Walking provided that foundation. Stretching added physical ease. Mindfulness gave it emotional depth.

A central part of the mission is to reintroduce walking as an acceptable and effective form of exercise. In a culture that often pushes extremes, Here for the Miles reminds people that physical activity can be simple but still effective. Walking counts. It clears the mind, supports the body, and creates space for people to be present.

Each session is designed to feel supportive and refreshing without being overwhelming. Whether during a short weekday walk or a longer event, the focus remains on helping people feel better in ways that last.

June 14, 2025 – Big Bluestem Trail, Frisco

From the very first walk, the energy was different. Only one person came that day, but each walk after welcomed new faces. People showed up for themselves, found connection in community, and left feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded.

Now, Here for the Miles offers customizable sessions for companies, residential communities, and local groups.

What began with one person and one idea has grown into a wellness program with a purpose. The journey is still unfolding, and the path ahead is full of momentum!
